Wheeleo® unpacking and assembly
Wheeleo® maintenance - #02
In order to maintain the optimal use of the Wheeleo® over the long term, it is important to pay attention to a few points:
* The free rotation of the wheels and their structure
* The fixation of the casters to the Wheeleo® structure
Free rotation of the wheels and their structure:
* The wheels must turn easily
* The casters must turn 360° without resistance.
Dust, hair, dirt can prevent the ball bearings from working properly. It is advisable to clean the ball bearings regularly with a cloth, a small brush or a little compressed air (dusting spray for PC). Once the bearings are well cleaned, they should be lubricated with a universal lubricant (e.g. WD-40).
This procedure should be done regularly and as soon as the Wheeleo® does not seem to be as easy to move as usual.
As a reminder, it is not recommended to use the Wheeleo® in environments such as water, sand, dirt, grass, gravel,... This will increase the frequency of the maintenance and may damage the Wheeleo® more quickly. Sand and water must be avoided.
Fixing the casters to the Wheeleo® structure
The casters are screwed with a threaded rod in the structure in order to be able to change the casters in case of advanced wear or defect. It is important to check regularly that the castors are correctly screwed to the ends of the Wheeleo® legs. This check should be done more regularly if the Wheeleo® is used on surfaces that generate vibrations.
If the casters are loosened, they should be tightened with a 14mm wrench in a clockwise direction (see vidéo). In order to limit the impact of vibrations on the tightening of the thread, it is advisable to add, before screwing, threadlocker (eg. Loctite 243 type) on the whole thread of the threaded rod of the castor (see vidéo).
